This ELISA kit is specially prepared to screen large amounts of serum or plasma for anti hepatitis E IgG in samples of human or animal origin.

Hepatitis E virus is a single strand RNA icosahedral virus that is commonly found the faeces of domestic animals. On amino acid level 90–92% homology is seen with human Hepatitis E virus strains. This high homology makes it possible for animal sourced strains to infect humans.

This kit makes use of the indirect ELISA method. Purified activated recombinant hepatitis E virus antigen (ORF2/ORF3) is coated on the multi-well plate to immobilize the IgG antibodies in samples or standard. The HRP labeled tracer in combination with the TMB substrate demonstrates the amount specific IgG present by increasing colour intensity.
The test is specific, sensitive, reproducible and easy to operate. It is for blood screen of HEV infection
